Flight would like to thank all locals and domestic/international friends who have supported Flight for the past six years. Flight returns this month with special guest Zanzibar Legend, DJ Dennis Gregory. Join up for this anniversary date.
Dennis Gregory is one of the unsung music heroes of the east coast music scene. He started Djing in 1979, and his early inspirations were both the legendary Zanzibar DJ Tee Scott and Larry Levan of Paradise Garage. Dennis soon became friends with fellow record pool member Tony Humphries. Dennis would later frequent Club Zanzibar in Newark, New Jersey on a regular basis, then soon after he became a regular at the club, one night Tony gave Dennis the big break he needed and summoned him to the DJ booth to play some records.
After that experience, Dennis would then remain at Zanzibar playing guest spots on Wednesdays with fellow DJ Naeem Johnson. While at Zanzibar Dennis also became friends with the late Larry Patterson another Zanzibar resident at the time and he would have Dennis play for him as well. Dennis has also had the opportunity to play guest spots on radio station KISS FM courtesy of Tony Humphries. After the closing of Club Zanzibar in November 1992, Dennis would later resurface to work with Tony Humphries and the YELLORANGE crew, from 1999 - 2005. Dennis currently does an internet radio show every Monday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. EST and Tuesday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. EST on Dwildmusicradio.com. Dennis still works very closely with Tony Humphries on many different projects that are currently in the works.
