Happy Hour: Party for Birds
This is a past event. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 5:00pm 9:00pm
Oregon Zoo 4001 SW Canyon Rd, Portland, Oregon 97221
Grab your friends, family, date or coworkers and head to our happy hour event for drinks, lawn games, local food carts, photo ops, wildlife sightings and other fun stuff.
Visitors who are 21+ can enjoy a zoo experience with dates, friends or family at an adults-only event. Having cocktails at the zoo isn’t just fun, it helps raise awareness and support for the zoo’s mission of creating a better future for wildlife through its animal welfare, education and conservation programs.
Get dinner from local food carts such as CS Fishery, Verde Cocina, Ben & Jerry’s, Pip’s, Ruby Jewel and Zeds, and enjoy snacks, cocktails and Oregon wine, beer and cider. The new Rogue Condor Kolsch, which was made in collaboration with the Oregon Zoo as a way to support endangered California condors, will be available.
Each happy hour will feature a different animal theme and July 11 will focus on some fine feathered friends who live at the zoo. A highlight will be the Wildlife Live show, with bird flights right over the heads of event guests.
Between 5 and 7 p.m., there will be condor keeper talks going on; and from 5 to 8 p.m., there will be vollum keeper talks and bird displays at the stage. At 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., there will be flights at the stage. Between 7 and 8 p.m., there will be tiny goat visits at the lawn!
Tickets include zoo admission, one drink ticket, lawn games, photo ops, keeper talks and crafty activities. Train and carousel rides are available for an additional charge.
There are two VIP ticket options: The Penguin Experience ($175) and the Macaw Experience ($175).
