Noontime Showcase: The Beat Goes On
This is a past event. Wednesday, August 14 at 12:00pm
Main Street, Outside the Antoinette Hatfield Hall 1111 S.W. Broadway, Portland, OR 97205
The Beat Goes On is an all-adult marching band committed to delighting Northwest and national audiences while reliving the best parts of the marching band experience. The band is known for its feel-good attitude, emphasis on audience interaction and spontaneity on the street and on stage. Though their musical tastes are eclectic, TBGO features a high-energy, brassy, rock and roll style—they may be a marching band, but they're more likely to play Lady Gaga than John Phillip Sousa! Band members hail primarily from the Pacific Northwest but come from as far away as Ohio, Florida, Arizona and California for special events. If you are over the age of 18 and play (or used to play) a band instrument, they invite you to come out and play with them!
This is the sixth of eight weekly, free Noontime Showcase performances as part of Summer Arts on Main, which feature a wide variety of performers and styles. Suitable for all ages.
During the summer months, Noontime Showcase—a monthly free performance held inside Antoinette Hatfield Hall during most of the year—moves out to Main Street and changes to a weekly schedule. This Noontime Showcase is part of the 2019 Summer Arts on Main series, which runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday, July 10 through August 28, with free performances and children’s activities.
