Symposium: Poetic Imagination in Japanese Art, Part I: Keynote Lecture

Please join the Portland Art Museum for this celebration of the special exhibition Poetic Imagination in Japanese Art: Selections from the Collection of Mary and Cheney Cowles. Members of the international team of scholars who contributed to the forthcoming catalogue will speak to the historical, literary and artistic themes presented by works in the exhibition, and two senior scholars from Japan will offer commentary as discussants. Funded by The Mildred Schnitzer Annual Asian Art Program for 2018.

Part I consists of the Keynote Lecture. 
Part II is the Symposium, followed by a reception.

Tickets are $10 for members of the Portland Art Museum and $35 for the general public. Students are free with a valid student I.D. The ticket price includes admission to the Museum on Friday, December 7; Saturday, December 8; and Sunday, December 9, as well as the reception following the symposium on Saturday.
