The Ripper: Song of the Knife - A Gothic Rock Musical

This is a past event. Sunday, June 23 at 6:00pm

Peninsula Odd Fellows Lodge 4834 N. Lombard St., Portland, OR 97203

Libretto: Norman Grey. Music: Heidi Davis and Ken Bussell. Based on the poems of Geoffrey Charles Pate.

Inspired by Geoffrey Charles Pate's gleefully macabre collection of poems The Ballad of Mr. Slice, Ripper: Song of the Knife follows a fictional serial killer who terrorized an alternate London from half a century ago. This isn't the Jack the Ripper story you're familiar with; it's much, much stranger . . .

The story follows a headstrong detective, Beth Stride, who is rightfully convinced a string of murders and disappearances are related. Behind these devilish deeds is twisted Jack Messer--a member of Mr. Kettering's traveling circus. What ensues is a story of love, death and betrayal that will chill you to the bone.

If you're worried about this one being too serious, don't be! It wouldn't be a Torchsong show without its fair share of bad puns and meta-humor. Join up for a thrilling ride through the mystery, with a rocking set-list of original songs inspired by bands like Nine Inch Nails, Evanescence and Type O Negative.

Rated R for strong language, violence and mild sexual content. Recomended for ages 16 and up.
