Victorian Tea & Garden Party with Special Guest Dan Haneckow

The Preservation Artisans Guild requests the pleasure of your company for a late-afternoon summer tea at Portland’s historic Victorian Belle mansion and gardens. They hope you will join them for this exceptional evening of food, good company and edification. Period dress is encouraged but not required.
Guests are requested to RSVP by August 1, 2018. Tickets must be purchased in advance - there will be no ticket sales at the door. This event is restricted to guests aged 18 and older.
Please arrive promptly by 4 p.m. to enjoy a casual social hour with great conversation, garden games, music by DJ Powerless and plenty of time to explore the beautiful 1800s Victorian Belle Mansion top to bottom.
At approximately 5 p.m. you’ll be seated in the glorious shaded gardens for a full-service, three-course tea plated and poured on fine china. Gluten-free and/or vegetarian options available - please note your preference at checkout if required.
At 6 p.m. guests will retire to the expansive open-air gazebo for a fascinating presentation (and Q & A if time allows) by local historian and author Dan Haneckow.
First Course: Assorted scones with jam and cream, fruit and cheese.
Second Course: Salad, quiche, assorted mini sandwiches and other delicious savories.
Third Course: A delectable selection of desserts including Petit Fours, chocolate dipped strawberries, fruit and custard.
Tea, coffee, sparkling punch, and ice water are included.
Wine and champagne available for purchase at the hosted garden bar.
There will be a raffle package full of passes, tickets, gift certificates and goodies from some of Portland's most prominent historic sites, organizations, museums, theaters and more. Here are just a few of the goodies included:

Raffle tickets may be available during the event for $25, cash only. If you purchase raffle tickets in advance, you will receive them upon entry to the event. Raffle tickets are non-refundable. The winning ticket will be announced at the event and the winner may claim their prize package immediately. A total of 180 raffle tickets will be sold.
About the speaker:
Dan Haneckow writes and speaks about Portland and Oregon history and transportation. His book Portland Then & Now was published by Pavillion Books in 2017. He has been a passionate advocate of preservation since childhood when he lived in Newport, Rhode Island and regularly toured its grand, Glided-Age mansions and Colonial-era houses. He has presented for the Architectural Heritage Center, Portland State University, The City of Portland, Car Free Cities, Railvolution and New Seasons Market, among others. He is currently working on a book about Portland's Great Light Way, a spectacle that transformed Portland's Third Street in 1914. Dan lives with his wife and son in a 1922 Bungalow in North Portland's Overlook Neighborhood.
